Privacy Policy
Last Updated: October 3, 2026
Monika Dalman Casting ("us", "we", or "our") operates the Monika Dalman Casting website (the "Site"). This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information when you use our Site and the choices you have associated with that data.
By using the Site, you acknowledge the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
1. Who We Are
Monika Dalman Casting is a casting company in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Monika Dalman is our Privacy Officer, responsible for the personal information we hold and for our compliance with privacy law, and answers any question or request about it (see Contact Us below).
2. Information We Collect
Talent Database Sign-Up
When you sign up to our talent database on the Site, we collect what you enter in the form:
- Full name and email address
- Location (such as city or region)
- Links to your Instagram, website, IMDb page and reels, if you give them
- Union status (such as Non-Union, UBCP/ACTRA or SAG-AFTRA)
- Height and weight
- Your agent’s name and email address, if applicable
- Your headshot and up to four other photos
- The date and time you signed up
We ask for your height, weight and photos only because casting needs them to judge whether you suit a role. Only people look at them, and only for that purpose: we don’t use them for automated profiling or decisions, or to recognize your face.
Contact Form
When you send us a message with our contact form, we collect your name and email address, your company if you give it, the type of enquiry, your message, and the date and time you sent it. We use them only to answer you.
Other Forms
Our background actor registration and client intake forms are Google Forms. What you enter in them (for background actors: your contact details, union status, sizing, special skills and photos) is collected by Google on our behalf, under Google’s Privacy Policy.
Spam Protection
To keep automated spam out, our talent database sign-up and contact form use Google reCAPTCHA, which checks in the background that the form is being filled in by a person. To do so, Google collects technical information about your visit and your device, such as your IP address, browser and how you use the page, and sets a cookie that reCAPTCHA needs to work. This is strictly necessary to protect the form, so it doesn’t ask for your consent. reCAPTCHA is subject to Google’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
Usage Data
Our host, Google Cloud, records technical information about each visit (your IP address, browser, the page asked for and the time) to keep the Site running and secure.
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics to see how visitors use the Site: which pages are visited, how visitors found the Site, the type of device and browser, and the approximate location (country or city). We use it only to improve the Site, not for advertising. Where the law requires your consent first (the European Union and the rest of the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland and Quebec), and wherever we can’t tell where you are, Google Analytics and its cookies load only if you accept them in the cookie banner. Everywhere else they load when you visit, and you can turn them off. Either way, a browser sending a Global Privacy Control signal is treated as having declined, and you can change your choice at any time with “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page; turning Google Analytics off deletes its cookies from your browser.
Cookies and Browser Storage
The Site uses these cookies:
- Your cookie choice (from us): remembers whether you accepted or turned off Google Analytics, for a year, so the Site doesn’t ask on every page.
- Google Analytics (from Google): unless you decline or turn them off, as above.
- Form security (from us): the talent database sign-up and contact form set a cookie that protects them against forged submissions. It is strictly necessary, so it doesn’t ask for your consent.
- reCAPTCHA (from Google): on the talent database sign-up and contact form, as described under Spam Protection.
- Embedded Google Forms and YouTube videos (from Google): the background actor page shows a Google Form, and the press page plays YouTube videos when you click one (in YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode). Google may set cookies or store information in your browser for them, under Google’s Privacy Policy.
While you fill in the talent database sign-up or contact form, your browser keeps the answers you have typed so that they aren’t lost if the page reloads. They stay on your device, and are cleared once you send the form or close the tab.
3. Use of Data
We use the information you give us to:
- Consider you for roles, and tell you about open calls and auditions.
- Pitch you to our clients (producers, directors and other casting professionals) for a specific project, which shares your photos, links and details relevant to that project with them.
- Answer your messages.
- Keep the Site working and secure, and prevent spam and abuse.
We do not sell your personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we don’t use it for advertising of any kind.
4. Where Your Information Is Kept
We use service providers to run the Site and our business, and they hold your information on our behalf: Google (our email, a copy of talent database sign-ups kept in our Google business account, and spam protection with reCAPTCHA, Google Analytics unless you turn it off, and Google Cloud, which hosts the Site, its database and its photos). The Site, its database and its photos are kept in Google Cloud’s data centre in Oregon, in the United States, and Google’s other services may keep information elsewhere, outside Canada. Where it is kept, your information may be accessible to the authorities under local law.
Photos are stored under random file names, and only we can see sign-ups. The Site is served only over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection.
5. How Long We Keep It
We keep a talent database sign-up until you ask us to delete it, so that we can keep considering you for roles as they come up. You can ask at any time, and we then delete it with its photos and every copy we keep. To update your details, sign up again.
We keep the answers to our other forms, and your messages, only as long as we need them, and delete them on request.
6. Children and Minors
Anyone under 18 may be in our talent database only if their parent or legal guardian fills in the sign-up form and agrees to this policy for them. The Site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information directly from them. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has given us personal information without your consent, please contact us and we will delete it.
7. Your Rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it, and you can withdraw your consent to our use of it at any time (we will then delete your sign-up). These rights come from British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act and, depending on where you live, laws such as the European Union’s and United Kingdom’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA).
- Legal Basis (GDPR): We process your sign-up with your consent, which you give when you submit the form, your messages for our legitimate interest in answering them, Google Analytics with your consent, which you give in the cookie banner (it asks wherever the GDPR applies), and technical data for our legitimate interest in keeping the Site secure.
- California Residents: We do not sell your personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising (see Use of Data above). Our Site honours the Global Privacy Control signal as described above.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below.
8. Facebook Page & Insights Disclosure
We maintain a professional Facebook Business Page to share casting calls, industry insights, and updates.
- Joint Controller Relationship: Together with Meta Platforms Ireland Limited ("Meta"), we act as Joint Controllers for the collection of data via our Facebook Page for statistical evaluation (Facebook Insights).
- Data Processing: Facebook Insights provides aggregated, non-personally identifiable statistical data about user interactions on our business page. You can find detailed information regarding Meta’s data privacy infrastructure in the official Meta Privacy Policy.
9. Changes to This Policy
If we change this policy, we will post the new version on this page and update the date at the top.
